I've been looking into census records and newspaper clippings (mostly obituaries) and I've managed to piece together a little diagram that describes the history of the family that lived in my house before me. Johan Liljeberg immigrated from Sweden in 1903, and his family followed in 1907. I haven't yet found them in the 1910 census records. My house was built for them in in 1913. By 1920, five Liljebergs were living in my house, 1917 Berwyn, and more were living across the alley at 1918 Farragut.
In the 1930s, Nina, a daughter of Johan, was living in house with her husband, Louis Franke and her mother, Eva. By 1940, the house had passed to Ragner, Johan's son (and a WWI hero), where he lived with his wife and two daughters. Some time after that, it passed to Mona, Johan's granddaughter, who had grown up across the alley. She lived here with her husband, Paul Peterson, and their two kids.
We bought the house in 2012 from those two kids.
